Here at Cleveland Uniting Church, our vision is that by encouraging and empowering people to grow their faith, helping others discover their faith, and connecting with our community through service, we hope to see More People, More like Jesus.
We know that we sometimes miss the mark, but we're always trying our best to become the people God has called us to be.
At Cleveland UC we have three worship services:
Usually, people wear smart casual clothing to our Sunday worship services, however, all are welcome regardless of what you wear.
There is rear-angle parking on the Queen Street side of the property or if this is full, the main carpark is located next to the Cleveland UC Large Hall, with the entrance from Passage Street.
If you have mobility concerns, there is a drive-through drop off area at the front of the church building that can be accessed by the driveway in Passage Street.
Once you follow the path from the car park to the Main Church building, you will see our welcomers who will give you some hand sanitiser and tick your name off the list or write down your details. Once you've done this, you will be guided into the main worship space and you are free to choose where to sit. To ensure that we maintain a physical distance of 1.5 meters, there is green masking tape on the tops of the chairs to show where to sit on the bench seat (pew).
To leave enough time to get your name ticked off the list and find your seat, we recommend arriving around 10-15 minutes before the service starts.
The service will start when the person up the front welcomes everyone. A typical service runs for around 60-70 minutes and is a time where we share prayer, listen to scripture, sing songs and listen to the word of God being preached.
On the first Sunday of every month at the 8am service and weekly at the 10am service, morning tea is served after the service. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions, morning tea is currently not provided but people are encouraged to stay around to have a chat or head to a local cafe together for morning tea instead.
Children are an important part of our church family. During our 9:45am service we have a Sunday School and a Creche. We also run many other activities outside of our Sunday Services.
(Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Sunday school has not resumed but activity sheets/booklets are provided for your children to use during the service)
